NATIVE HAZELNUT VARIETIES
Crisolar offers native hazelnuts from a specific area, Tarragona. The most important producing area of Spain. Hazelnut varieties within the Reus Certified Origin as Negreta and Pauetet, and other common varieties. Performing a selection of sizes and offering conventional or blanching, manufactured hazelnuts for greater industrial comfort.
It is the most appreciated variety from a commercial point of view, due to its excellent flavor and its ease of peeling once roasted. The kernel has excellent properties and organoleptic characteristics to be used as an snack and as an ingredient in cakes, ice creams, sauces and various culinary recipes.
The name ‘Common’ encompasses the rest of the varieties: ‘Pauetet’, ‘Gironella’, ‘Morella’ and ‘Culplà’ are the most representatives. Hazelnuts are a type of tree nut that, in addition to being highly appreciated as an aperitif, has multiple uses in the food industry, appearing as an ingredient in multiple confectionery applications.
